INTRO

From May 22nd until May 31st Apulia will host the XIII Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.

Over 700 young artists between 18 and 30 years old, coming from 46 different European and  Mediterranean countries, will gather in Apulia for 10 days of shows, exhibitions, performances and meetings.

This is a unique chance for all young Apulian creative artists, for those who work with them, for the region itself.

We would like the XIII BJCEM  to become a place where  all the artists coming to the Biennale, as well as all young Apulian resident artists, will have the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and interact.

To do this, we created  a so-called BarCamp.

We called it a B_CreativeCamp.

B ‘cause is the 2nd CreativeCamp held in Apulia. B as in Biennale. B as in Bollenti Spiriti. B as in Be Creative!

WHAT'S A BARCAMP?

The 1st BarCamp rule is: no spectators, only participants.

BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences, of open, participatory workshop and events, whose content is provided only by participants: anyone can propose a topic, present an idea or a project and discuss it with people, spreading free thinking, curiosity, learning, and knowledge.

BarCamp welcomes all people interested in sharing and learning in a free and open way.

• In September 2007, Regione Puglia organized the 1st Bar Camp dedicated to Youth Creativity

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

At the B_Creative Camp you can show your works, propose an idea, put up a performance, launch a debate or simply participate. Or you may not: if you don’t feel like doing it, just come over and hung out, nobody will impose you anything.

Or else you may volunteer, helping support the event.

Our aim is to let the demand and the offer of knowledge, art and creativity, meet freely.

All interventions must take place during the B_CC. You need to prepare them in advance and announce them, through this website. Once you get to the camp, if you have something to present, submit the title of your intervention to the open program.

The public will choose which event to attend. At B_CC isn’t bad mannered to leave during a presentation, if you’re just not interested in it.

Participants will not be paid for their interventions.

If you present something, you can post your own slides, notes, and audio/video files of your presentation on the web, to share it with those who couldn’t make it that day.

HOW TO ATTEND?

If you like the idea and the topic interests you: add your name in the page CREATIVE CAMPERS. You’ll find instructions on how to get to the page and edit it.

If you’d like to be contacted by other participants for projects, performances or common involvement, leave your name and some web connections like email, flickrpage, myspace etc.

If you have a project, an idea, a topic to present: title it (even if temporary) in the INTERVENTION page. You’ll always have the chance to edit it and give a hint to other campers on the content of your event.

If you have any particular technical needs or you’d like to suggest any activities to accomplish on the B_CC day, contact us ASAP. In any case, try to be as self-sufficient as you can.

During the B_CC, single interventions don’t have to last longer than 30 minutes. Collaborations among artists are really appreciated, as well as shared ones.

NOTICE TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS

Generally speaking, during the B_CC it won’t be possible to plan live concerts or amplified musical performances or anything that could prevent ingoing activities in other rooms.
